Create an Order Form in WordPress in Simple Steps

You need to include an order button to the WordPress platform to include a simple order form? You will build an order template (and receive payment from clients once you send the request) with WPForms with Stripe, Authorize. Net, and the Paypal for payment integrations. You may also create an order form in wordpress that generates customer’s order info, so you can accept payments later on.

In this tutorial, we show you how to create a simple online payment order form with payments in WPForms.

Where do I build Order Form for my website?

Below are some useful links for you to continue to the right template for your online order form for your website:

Stage 1- Build a Simple Order Form in WordPress

Install and activate the WPForms plugin is the first thing you will need to do. Then go to WPForms » Add New to create a new form.

Give name to your form and choose the Billing / Order form template on the order form creator of setup screen

Next, you’re going to want to change what items are available for order.

To do so, scroll down and click on “Available items” on the right section of the template.

The “Field Options” will be opened in the left window. You may rename, add or remove products from the order items and change prices of the items.

Click on the “Use image Choices” checkbox in the Form Editor if you want to allow people to choose from images when filling in your order form online.

Once you do that, you will be able to add photos with the products and send customers a quick description about what they purchased.

Finally, by moving them from the left side to the right, you can add additional fields to your order form.

Click Save once you’re done.

Stage 2: Customize notifications for your form

Your basic order form has two settings to customize. The first is the provision of alerts. Notifications are an ideal way to send email when someone submits a form.

An email notification can be sent to yourself as well, which WPForms does automatically unless the form notifications are disabled. By adding their email to the address field, you may also send a message to the team member.

Furthermore, by using smart tags, you can also send a customer a form notification to let them know that their order has been received.

Let us see how to build a notification form to be sent to a customer after they place an order on your web site.

Start by clicking on the Form Builder’s Settings tab, and then click Notifications.

Next, when a new order is received, you’ll want to configure which email address will receive a notification.

Click “Show Smart Tags” in the “Send To Email Address” field to include the email address of the customer who filled out the online order on your website.

Click on Email, so that WPForms knows to send a message to the email address entered on the submission of an order form.

Next, you can change the subject of your email message to be more precise. You can also customize the e-mail’s “From Name,” “From Email” and “Reply-To.”

And don’t forget to send a personalized reply if the email goes to someone other than yourself.

Use this {all fields} smart tag if you wish to include all the details of the data fields of the requested order form.

By modifying these fields, you’ll know whoever receives the email message will know exactly about what the message is and from whom it came.

Stage 3: Configure the form confirmations

The second configure setting deals with confirmations of the form. Form confirmations are notifications that will display to customers after they submit a form of order.

There are three types of confirmation which you can choose from:

  1. Message: In WPForms this is the default method of confirmation. When a customer submits an order form, a quick confirmation notification will show to let them know their application has been received.
  2. Show Page: That type of confirmation form would direct customers to a different web page on your site, thanking them for placing the order.
  3. Go to URL (Redirect): This option is used if you wish to redirect customers to another website.

Let’s see how to set up a quick confirmation form in WPForms so that you can configure the response that users receive when they place their orders.

First, under Settings, click on the Confirmation tab in the Form Editor.

Next choose the type of confirmation you want to create. Let’s select “Message” for this example.

Then configure the confirmation message to your preference, and when you’re finished, press Save.

Stage 4: Configure the Payment settings

Finally, you’ll need to configure the payment settings for your order form by connecting to your payment provider so that you can collect payments online.

For accepting payments, WPForms supports integration with payment processors PayPal, Authorize. Net and Stripe. Offering more than one means of payment is a great way to reduce form abandonment.

To configure the settings for payment information on your order form, you will first have to install and activate the correct payment addon.

Click on the “Payments tab” in the Form Editor once you have done so.

In our example, we are going to set up PayPal for order processing.

You may need to enter your PayPal email address after clicking on PayPal, select the “Production mode”, choose “products and services” and change other settings as required.

After configuring the payment settings, click “Save” to save the changes you have made.

You are now able to add your order form to your site.

Stage 5: Add a Simple Order Form to the Website

WPForms enables you to add your forms to multiple places on your website, such as blog posts , pages, and sidebars (widget-ready areas).

Let’s first take a look at the most common embed option for post / page.

Begin by making a new WordPress post or web page. Before that, click inside the first block (the blank field under the title of the page) and click the Add WPForms button.

Within your block the handy WPForms widget should appear. Click the dropdown of the WPForms and pick any of the forms you have already generated you want to insert into your page. Select your order form.

Next click the top-right blue button which says Publish, so your form will appear on your website.

Go to Appearance » Widgets in order to to add a simple order form to the sidebar widget section of your web,

And add your WPForms widget to sidebar. After that, from the drop-down menu, pick the Billing / Order Form and save your changes to the widget area.

Click Save .

You will now view your published order form live on your website. Note that the price adjusts automatically when selecting products on the list.

So there you have it! Now you know how to build a simple WordPress order form that accepts payments online using WPForms.
